In this time of social distancing and isolation, HowlRound will be continuing to livestream panels, speeches, and convenings from theatremakers around the world sharing their thoughts on this experience from their own homes. 

The virtual series will explore the theme of the upcoming 7th Annual Asian American Theater Festival & Conference (ConFest) “Kuʻu ʻĀina, Kuʻu Piko, Kuʻu Kahua - Return to the Source” in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi in May 2021, which centers the voices of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander theater practitioners, and will feature the thriving theater community of Hawaiʻi, where Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander faces on stage are the norm, not the exception.

The Roma theater has more than a century long past with active professional theatre groups in many European countries, but unfortunately, they are still hardly known.

Join Taylor Mac for a glimpse into the creative process and gain insight into exciting new multidisciplinary work coming out of the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).

A series of five performances created through a laboratory-type process and a presentation of that process by the artists who created them. The project aims to support artistic research in the Romanian theatre, through documenting and archiving different processes of creation and distributing this information to professionals and students of performative arts, as well as to the public. The performances are produced by the independent theatre Reactor, based in Cluj, Romania.

This is a broad-based interdisciplinary, intercultural, and cross-sectoral exploration of climate justice within the context of theatre and performance with a focus on the Global South.

Now in its second year, the festival embraces the theme The Water Remembers, exploring the transformative power of water as a vessel of remembrance, connection, and cultural legacy.
