Queer Theatre on Campus
What is it like to direct queer theatre on college campuses now? What are the edges of queer theatre productions on college campuses, and how can those edges be spaces of productivity as opposed to conflict? This HowlRound series brings together artists and educators working in higher education to examine the lived realities of making queer theatre today. Contributors write from practice, addressing directing queer work on campus, with a particular focus on how these questions resonate different in rural and conservative areas. Together, these pieces position the contemporary campus as a contested but generative site for queer theatremaking.
