
Ariel Stess is a Brooklyn-based playwright and director originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico. She holds an MFA in Playwriting from Brooklyn College and a BA from Bard College. Her plays include Prowlers in the Night, Mother Milk, The Lock and Door, The Only Girl in the Hot Tub, He Ate Quietly into the Wall, and You Didn’t See Her Alone / Heartbreak. Her work has been developed or presented at the Bushwick Starr, Playwrights Horizons, Dixon Place, the Lark, Little Theatre, New Georges, the New Ohio Theatre, and Page 22. She is a New Georges Affiliated Artist, a New Georges 2013-14 Audrey Resident, a resident artist at Mabou Mines, and a member of the Falcons, Clubbed Thumb's early-career writers' group. Ariel is currently at work on Tragedy (Dixon Place, June ‘14), and The Crown Heights Project (Mabou Mines, June ‘14).
