Ellen Mareneck is an Associate Professor of Communication Arts & Sciences at Bronx Community College/CUNY. She has been a professional actress for over thirty years, performing in plays at The Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, SoHo Rep, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, and New Georges, among others. She is a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre. Her academic fields are Theatre and Speech. She has a BA from Brown University, an MFA in Acting from Brandeis University, and an MA in Speech-Language Pathology from Lehman College. She is currently exploring the use of Hip Hop in the Theatre classroom ("Shakespeare to a Hip Hop Beat") as well as using theatre techniques to improve the quality of life in children who stutter.
