Emily Niewendorp

Emily is a founding member, actor, producer, and writer for Alacrity Project. Born and raised in Michigan she studied theater performance at Hope College, and then moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. Initially, Emily portrayed quirky characters in plays and films such as Picnic on the Battlefield at Chez Leroe Theatre, The Frog Kissers and the web series AMC Diary with Actors Moviemaking Company. In 2006, she formed Alacrity Players with fellow Hope Alumni Blaine (Cook) Turk and Kathryn (Cleveland) Bedrosian, and with the financial support of The Field, developed and performed Strangers, a compilation of short acts about war, hope, relationships, and economic strife in NYC. She joined ActorCor in 2012 and participates in their tri-faith concert, Say Yes! She studies with actor David Vadim. Originally a farm girl, Emily maintains a garden and compost at her apartment in Brooklyn.
