Eugenie Chan

Eugenie Chan is a playwright and artistic director of Eugenie Chan Theater Projects, dedicated to telling the untold stories of Chinese in the American West.

With deep roots in SF’s Chinatown and AAPI arts community and over 30 years in education, playwriting, and theater administration, Eugenie brings culturally competent skills and relationships with community organizations that allow her to work with general audiences and Asian Americans with little access to theater. She is sought as a playwright of Chinese American and strong women stories. Theater productions include: Paul Dresher Ensemble/Shadowlight, Cutting Ball, San Francisco Mime Troupe, Magic, The Public, Houston Grand Opera. Former Literary Manager and co-producer, AAPI Playwrights Festival Magic Theatre. Adjunct Professor: Department of Film and Theater, San José State University.
