Julia Schachnik (she/her/hers) is the HowlRound Creative Producer. Julia is a community builder, producer, and joy seeker. She comes to HowlRound after five years at the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University, where she worked with community, staff, and supporters to build interdependent networks of learning and connection through lenses of anti-racism and anti-oppression. She previously served as the first Director of People and Culture at Brain Arts Organization, an arts advocacy non-profit based in Dorchester. Julia holds a B.A. in Digital Justice from New York University, where she studied how progressive social movements can be generated and supported through digital communications.

Julia comes from a Brazilian, performing arts family and is dedicated to producing the conditions that allow artists from historically-excluded communities to thrive.
