Luísa Roubaud

Luísa Roubaud (PhD) is a Professor in dance studies (Faculty of Human Movement - University of Lisbon) and a researcher at the Institute of Ethnomusicology – Study Centre in Music and Dance. She worked as a visiting teacher in universities in Spain, Belgium, United Kingdom and USA. She holds an MA in Portuguese Culture and Literature, and an MA in Psychology (University of Lisbon). Her areas of interest are psychology and performing arts, and post-colonial and cultural studies in dance in the Lusophone context, fields in which she is the author of several essays. In the past, she trained as dancer and worked as an actress; recently she collaborated with the Ministry of Culture in the accompaniment of regional dance structures.   She is a dance critic in the Portuguese press.
