Michael Wright

Michael Wright is Applied Professor of Creative Writing, Theatre and Film at The University of Tulsa, where he teaches screenwriting and playwriting. He is the founder and moderator of the Fictional Characters writers collective and creator of the "WomenWorks" national playwriting competition. His poems, plays, and fiction have appeared in This LandThe Elvis Monologues,  Monologues from the Road, Moondance Film Festival and the National Audio Theatre Festival, among others. His writing encompasses theatre, film, radio, performance poetry, music, reviews and profiles for The Tulsa Voice and the creation of performance pieces at such venues as the Tulsa PAC, the Nightingale Theatre and the Tulsa Artists' Coalition gallery. His most recent book is Sensory Writing for Stage and Screen: An Etude-Based Process of Exploration (Hackett Publishers, 2015).
