Artist based in Vancouver, Canada.
Milton Lim is an artist based in Vancouver, Canada: the traditional, unceded, and occupied territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaɬ Nations.
Milton’s live art and digital media practice is engaged with global sociocultural politics, the cataloguing/archiving/indexing of public data, and the obsolescence of the manual labourer. These thematic concerns are bolstered by a continued exploration of game mechanics, typography, and emergent narratives. He holds a BFA (Hons.) in theatre performance and psychology from Simon Fraser University. He has toured to international festivals and venues across Canada, the UK, and Singapore. In 2016 Milton was awarded the Ray Michal Prize for Outstanding Body of Work at the Jessie Awards.
He is Co-Artistic Director of Hong Kong Exile, an Artistic Associate with Theatre Conspiracy, an archivist with videocan, and one of the co-creators behind culturecapital the performing arts economy trading card game.
