Monty Cole

Monty Cole is a Chicago-based director. Cole served as Founding Artistic Director for Fireseed Theatre Company in Boston where he wrote and co-directed Seeds. He's also an original founder of the Chicago Commercial Collective. He has assistant directed We Three at Side Project and The Pied Piper at Strawdog Theatre. Cole recently directed Alex Lubischer's new play Weird Kids for Haven Theatre Company and a reading of Dianne Nora’s Western Country   at The Walker Space (home of SoHo Rep in New York). Monty has also worked with Victory Gardens Theater as their Artist Programs Manager (Casting/Access Project/Resident Theaters), Next Theatre Company (Communications Manager), Rough House Theatre, The House Theatre of Chicago, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, The Royal George Theater,   and The Lyric Stage of Boston. Coming up next, Monty will direct a workshop reading of The Displaced   by Isaac Gomez with Definition Theater Company and a staged reading tour of The Gospel of Lovingkindness   for Victory Gardens Theater. This fall, Monty will attend the California Institute of the Arts as an MFA Director.
