Mxolisi Masilela

Mxolisi Masilela is a graduate of the Windybrow Theatre's performing arts program, and he is an Actor/Director and a Playwright. In 2010 he co-wrote and directed an all female cast play titled Choices which participated at the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture’s Ishashalazi festival and got several award nominations, namely: Best script/Director/actress/production. In 2011 he wrote and directed another all female cast play titled After Tears that got a season at the Windybrow Theatre, Ishashalazi theatre festival, and Sibikwa drama festival. In 2012 he wrote and directed an all male cast play titled Queen the chosen ones that performed at the market theatre's zwakala festival and was on the top 3 best productions, performed at Ishashazi festival and got a Naledi nomination of being the best community theatre production. He recently won the zwakala festival 2014, with a play tittle Thula Thula. Mxolisi Masilela is the founder and the artistic director of Tx theatre productions. He is the artistic director of the Kuwamba woman theatre festival that is currently funded by DAC.
