Ruth Weiner is the Class of 1944 Professor of Theatre and the Liberal Arts emerita at Carleton College where she taught and directed and where, with a colleague in dance, she founded the Department of Theater and Dance in 2004. At Carleton she initiated new courses in playwriting and commissioned two new adaptations from Minneapolis playwrights Jeff Hatcher and Barbara Field. Currently she is dramaturg/co-director of a solo show, The Blueprint Project to be performed in Minneapolis in November 2015. She has been a member of the board of the Playwrights’ Center for eight years.
