ART/New York presented a keynote and presentation from their Fall Forum Kickoff livestreamed on the global, commons-based, peer-produced HowlRound TV network on Monday 23 October 2023 at 3:30 p.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC -7) / 5:30 p.m. CDT (Chicago, UTC -5) / 6:30 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4).

ART/New York hosted the first Fall Forum to foster community, support collaboration, and encourage resource sharing among our members. We kicked off the 2023 Fall Forum with an event to bring together the entire ART/New York community. It’s a tough time to be making theatre. It’s also a necessary moment for the power and possibility of the art we create. Though as of writing this we don’t yet know what solutions may emerge from this forum, we are confident in the ability of our community to remain rooted in our values as we dream up a world that doesn’t yet exist. We reaffirm the importance of live theatre and to raise a glass to the beginning of a joyous multi-day event!

The presentation portion of this event was livestreamed in partnership with HowlRound and Transcend Streaming.

With welcome remarks from MCC, and an address by Talia Corren and Risa Shoup, ART/New York Co-Executive Directors.

Also featuring Board Chair Deadria Harrington from The Movement Theatre Company and CO/LAB Theatre Group and their executive director, Becky Leifman.

Plus a musical performance from The Lonely Few— with music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak featuring Tony Winner Lauren Patten (coming up at MCC Theater in April 2024).

ART/New York convenes their first Fall Forum to foster community, support collaboration, and encourage resource sharing among their members. Programming will include panel discussions, workshops, mixers, and roundtable conversations. This multi-day event will be an opportunity for collective learning, relationship building, solution sharing, and, perhaps most importantly, joyful social events! Though we don’t yet know what solutions will emerge, we are confident in the ability of our community to remain rooted in our values as we dream up a world that doesn’t yet exist
