Groundwater Arts presented Green New Theater Part 2: Decolonized Leadership Practices livestreamed on the global, commons-based, peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Thursday 16 July 2020 at 4 p.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC-7) / 6 p.m. CDT (Chicago, UTC-5) / 7 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC-4).
The second call in our Green New Theatre (GNT) 2020 series will be centered around the second principle of the GNT: Decolonized Leadership Practices. Join us on Zoom (link coming soon) or watch the livestream! ASL Interpretation will be provided.
We are currently in a disruptive moment, which all of us in the arts sector are feeling in different ways. There is job loss and insecurity, concern for our families and communities, and a new instability leading to a new normal that we can’t see yet. It may seem like a strange moment to extend an invitation to talk about climate justice. What we at Groundwater are identifying is that climate change will change our world in future in even greater, albeit slower ways, and this moment of disruption is an opportunity to imagine how we pivot to a regenerative future. That said, this is a moment when many will not be able to opt in - we understand that many communities - especially front line and marginalized communities - are being hardest hit by this pandemic. For those able and interested in joining the conversation, we would love to hear from you.
This call is in partnership with HowlRound Theatre Commons and the BATS! Accessibility for the series is being partially supported by the New School Tishman Environment and Design Center.

Groundwater Arts is a half-Indigenous, predominantly POC, fully women-led artist collaborative. We will be centering decolonizing practices and relational ways of working during all of our GNT calls.
