Tlaloc Rivas presented the Latinx Superfriends Playwriting Hour with Fernanda Coppel livestreamed on the global, commons-based, peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Monday 22 June 2020 at 3 p.m. EDT (New York) / 2 p.m. CDT (Chicago) / 1 p.m. MDT (Denver) / 12 p.m. PDT (Los Angeles) / 20:00 BST (London, UTC+1) / 21:00 CEST (Berlin, UTC+2).

Latinx Superfriends Playwriting Hour is a Latinx-led playwriting series featuring writers/theatremakers from across the U.S. to share writing practices, experiences, and insightful anecdotes of practice, process, and inspiration.

Each week one playwright will each bring their own views on how to write dramatic texts, offering tips and prompts via their own particular social consciousness, approaches to theatrical style and form, and how to communicate to your intended audiences. The series is intended for aspiring writers, students of dramatic writing, or for anyone interested creating thoughtful, visceral, and unique blueprints for performance, whether for the stage, screen or other media.

Tlaloc Rivas (curator) and Thea Rodgers (moderator) will be online via HowlRound during each session.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING 'LATINX SUPERFRIENDS PLAYWRITING HOUR'
Each session will be one hour. Each program will be livestreamed via Zoom sessions and the HowlRound livestream. The general format will be that each playwright will spend the first half of each session taking you through writing exercises, prompts, etc. and during the second half will answer any questions the online Zoom audience and online social audience might have regarding their own work and their own creative process (format is also subject to change because each writer is unique!). Please note: due to the nature of the session, each playwright will focus on answering questions about being a writer and the writing process and will not be offering critiques on any written work.
