The Maida Withers Dance Construction Company and the Lisner Auditorium at George Washington University in Washington, DC presented the world premiere of MindFluctuations livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Thursday 19 March at 8 p.m. EDT (New York) / 7 p.m. CDT (Chicago) / 5 p.m. PDT (Los Angeles).

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary Season, pioneering choreographer Maida Withers is joined by Tania Fraga, computer artist, São Paulo, Brazil; John Driscoll and Steve Hilmy, electronic musicians and composers; David Page, sculptor; and eight distinctive dancers for the World Premiere of MindFluctuations—a groundbreaking interactive collaboration between dance, projected 3D visual animation, and electronic music. Dancers wear a brain-wave detecting headset that allows human emotions to interface and influence complex 3D computer art resulting in cyberworlds projected as a dramatic visual environment for the dance on stage. Through a live interactive process with the dancers, the musicians create a compelling music score for this thought-provoking performance. For more information
