ABOUT THE SHOW The Shakespearean Jazz Show is a Boston-born project, created by active students attending Emerson College and Berklee College of Music. The production reinvigorates and recontextualizes Shakespearean performance in a new, energetic, innovative way. The Nine Worthies is the name of the band (inspired from Shakespeare’s Love’s Labor’s Lost) and the ensemble collaboratively works together to provide an unforgettable parade of Shakespearean sonnets, songs and scenes composed to original New Orleans-style jazz. The loose, improvisatory nature of jazz frees the Shakespearean text in a way that allows the feeling and intent of the words to be expressed in a completely new way.

Wish I'd seen this! HowlRound sent the eblast a few hours after the stream ended. Are there still recordings available online?

A big Shakespeare fan. :)
