Emerson College in Boston presented two events involving Suzan-Lori Parks livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Wednesday 3 April 2013.

1. Watch Me Work by Suzan-Lori Parks will happen at 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. PDT (San Francisco) / 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. CDT (Chicago) / 2pm-3:30pm EDT (Boston) / 18:00 GMT - 19:30 GMT / 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. BST (London). Click here to see your local time.

This performance piece, a meditation on the artistic process and an actual work session, featured Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks working on her newest writing project in the Randall Lobby of the Paramount Center at Emerson College, Boston. The audience was invited to come and watch her work and/or to share the space and get some of their own writing work done. During the last fifteen minutes of the performance Parks answered any questions the audience might have regarding their own work and their creative process. To participate online, use Twitter hashtag #howlround in your tweets and direct your questions and comments to @WatchMeWorkSLP.

From Suzan-Lori Parks: "Watch Me Work is a play with an action and dialogue—it’s also a meta-theatrical free writing class! Come join us. xoxo SLP." Click here for future performance dates at The Public Theater, New York—which will also be livestreamed on the HowlRound TV channel.

2. A Million Suggestions, a lecture by Suzan-Lori Parks, started at 2pm PDT (San Francisco) / 4pm CDT (Chicago) / 5pm EDT (Boston) / 21:00 GMT / 10pm BST (London). Click here to see your local time. Suzan-Lori Parks is the Emerson College 2013 Waldman Chair and Master Writer Chair at The Public Theater. Her work includes Topdog/Underdog, 365Days/365Plays, and the novel Getting Mother's Body.
