José Luis Valenzuela is the Artistic Director of the Latino Theater Company and the Los Angeles Theatre Center (The LATC) and a professor of theatre at
UCLA where he heads the MFA Directing Program. This summer he directed Peer Gynt at the Ibsen Theater in Norway. He is the recipient of the prestigious Ann C. Rosenfield Community Partnership Award. As the Artistic Director of The LATC, José Luis has been responsible for developing the artistic vision and organizational mission, translating ideals into artistic programming and overseeing its implementation. The LATC produces and presents programming that represents the diversity of Los Angeles.
