Juliana Frey-Méndez

Juliana is a free-lance director, deviser, and choreographer based in Missouri.

Juliana Frey-Méndez is a Cuban American director dedicated to resurrecting forgotten histories to ignite the imagination. After studying Theatre for Social Change (Cornell University), she completed her M.F.A. in Theatre Directing (University of California: San Diego), and went on to experiment with hybrid performance as the Artist in Residence (Duke University). She has work produced at FringeNYC (Winner of Best Musical), La Jolla Playhouse’s WOW Festival, San Diego Repertory Theatre’s Latinx New Play Festival, among others. Most recently, she directed the American Premiere of Brontë: The World Without at Riverside Theatre. She is a proud member of SDC, The Latinx Theatre Commons, and The Fornés Institute.
