Keelin Sanz

Actor | Writer | Theatre Maker

Keelin is a New York-based writer and theatre maker originally from South Carolina. As an actor, Keelin has performed with TheaterWorks USA, Rail Events, Inc., Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, New York Theatre Festival, and Scene+Heard: The Festival of New Work in Dublin, Ireland. Additionally, her original written work, Wo/Mi, premiered as a part of Scene+Heard in the Smock Alley Theatre this winter. Most recently, Keelin has worked as a teaching artist with the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities Summer Programs, of which she is a proud alumnus. Keelin holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Coastal Carolina University and an M.A. in Theatre Practice from University College Dublin and The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland.

Keelin Sanz discusses the development of WOMI, which she created to explore the healing capacity of art. By rooting WOMI in the work of choreographer Anna Halprin and memoirist Sarah Ramey, Sanz crafted a performance that worked to a mend the relationship between body and sense of self for those with chronic illnesses.
