Mitch Mattson

Mitch Mattson is Assistant Director of Education at Roundabout Theatre Company in NYC. From 2008-2013 as part of the Community Engagement Department at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, Mitch managed the Voice of Now program, whose ensembles performed at the International AIDS Conference and both ATHE’s and AATE’s National Conferences. In 2012 Mitch was one of four Arena Stage artists, sponsored by the US State Department, to travel to India to create devised theater pieces with diverse groups of children. Mitch was an Allen Lee Hughes Senior Community Engagement Fellow and an affiliated teaching artist with the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Lantern Theatre Company, Learning Stages, and CLIMB Theatre. He taught at Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii, Crown College in Minnesota, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the American Alliance for Theatre & Education. He holds a B.F.A. from Millikin University and a Master's in Theatre History and Theory from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where his research focused on Theatre for Social Change.
