It’s all about the art: APAP|NYC 2015 begins with a conversation among artists about why we do what we do. Why do artists make art in the 21st century? How do artists perceive today’s audiences? What advice do they have for the presenting field? Esteemed artists from various genres and generations discuss our joint responsibility for ensuring the growth and sustainability of live performance.

Ideas, feelings, beliefs. Artists convey powerful messages to audiences through unique collaborations and partnerships. Experience the inspiration and expertise behind the work of five extraordinary members of our creative community in a series of pecha kucha-style presentations followed by a lively moderated conversation between the presenters and the audience. What is pecha kucha? Pecha kucha presentations (Japanese for "chit-chat") are designed to re-ignite the stage and spark conversation. In rapid-fire succession, each participant shares 20 slides in just five minutes for presentations that are a work of performance art in their own right.
