Interview with Sebastiano Spinella about Children of the Wind (Italy)

Roma Theatre Retrospective 2021

Friday 5 November 2021 and Monday 6 December 2021

Interview by Rosamaria Kostic Cisneros.

Circus artist, performer, and educator Sebastiano Spinella talks about his own life. For him, his own identity is still uncertain, as his grandmother’s presumably Roma origin was concealed by family members. A black sheep, this protagonist left home at seventeen to tour Europe as a wandering musician and a circus artist. He then returned to Italy to work with Roma children without citizenship, in whom almost no one believed.
