Island Shakespeare Festival presented Teacakes and Tarot with Will Wilhelm and and Joshua Castille livestreaming on the global, commons-based, peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 6:30 p.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC -7) / 8:30 p.m. CDT (Chicago, UTC -5) / 9:30 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4).

Teacakes & Tarot with Will Wilhelm is one part cocktail party and one part slumber party! In each episode, TGNC actor and host Will Wilhelm interviews a queer theatre maker for a chat about art, life in the industry, and their connections with Shakespeare. Together, Will and their artistic crush conjure pathways to creating more inclusive and queer-friendly new work and approaches to the classics. After a lovely interview, Will offers each guest a tarot and sonnet reading creating a sensationally live yet intimate conclusion to their shared time. Teacakes & Tarot with Will Wilhelm offers insight, inspiration, and a little incidental education in all things queer, classic, and cosmic.

Since its first episodes in September 2020, audiences have called Teacakes & Tarot with Will Wilhelm “a much needed TRANSfusion [in American Theatre]” and “the BEST part of my 2020.” Guests can watch the livestream or register at the link below to participate in the action via Zoom.

Teacakes & Tarot with Will Wilhelm was co-created by Erin Murray and is presented by the Island Shakespeare Festival as a part of the Shakespeare Playground Series, which presents digital programming that incorporates creative intersections with Shakespeare.
