The Playwrights Realm presented the panel Making The Most Out of Your OPT, livestreaming on the commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv Thursday 3 February 2022 at 1 p.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC -7) / 3 p.m. CDT (Chicago, UTC -5) / 4 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4) / 21:00 BST (London, UTC +1).
It’s that time of year when international students who are nearing graduation need to start thinking about their post-completion Optional Practical Training. For artists who are hoping to transition to an O-1 visa, the OPT period is a crucial time, when they will amass as much evidence of “extraordinary achievement” as possible. If it sounds daunting, it’s because it is—but this panel can shed some light on the process, helping you make the best choices for a fruitful OPT that’ll result in a strong O-1 case.
