O-Teatron offers online access to full-length performances created by Middle Eastern theatre makers, with a special focus on Syrian stages—both local and diasporic. This digital showcase lands as a direct response to the recent political transformations in Syria, including the fall of the Assadist Baathist regime and the contemporary ambiguities of being in Syria here and now.
These performances create an opportunity to pause and reflect on the era following the Syrian uprising where themes such as the domestic life in the city, displacement, resilience, and ambiguous hope are being explored. The Encounter includes two live artist discussions that deepen the engagement with the featured works and their creators.
