Safe Havens Freedom Talks

Safe Havens Freedom Talks (SH|FT) is thrilled to present an interesting performance called Dark & Delicious, featuring participants from last year's Safe Havens Conference in Athens. This version of the performance took place in Nordic Black Theatre (Oslo) early March 2024.

The power of language, memory, and creativity are intertwined in this performance featuring readings of poetry written in Zoque, Tzotzil, and Spanish accompanied by music composed and arranged by musicians from the Chiapanec culture, an extinct language but one that continues to manifest itself culturally in rituals and festive practices.

Encounters between artists from different corners of the world are captured in a series of mini documentaries. Safe Havens Freedom Talks (SH|FT) presents Safe edition #2, launched during the Artistic Freedom Conference ("Fri Kunst").

This presentation showed a way of conceptual development and essential meaning in the artist’s practice. Through a story of more than ten public sculptures, Ani showed her latest project, erected in Prague, Czech Republic after her evacuation from Prague as a result of the war. This event was made possible with the support of the Artists at Risk Connection (ARC).
