The topic for this week's Howl will beabout how we—together as a field—can rapidly intervene to make the not-for-profit arts economy work for all artists through the Culture Coin project that HowlRound is proposing in the ArtsFwd Business Unusual Challenge.
Culture Coin is a digital currency and a resource sharing economy that seeks to challenge how the not-for-profit arts sector has institutionalized uncompensated sweat equity and challenge our field's assumptions of what resources can actually sustain a creative life in the arts. We want to put the "equity back into sweat equity" and we want to activate the massive amounts of unused, latent resources that could belong to our field.
