Leah took her first dance class at the age of three, where she sat in the corner and sucked her thumb the whole time. Her mother promptly took her out. Somehow, through hours of practice banging on pots and pans in her parents' kitchen, she overcame her debilitating shyness, and no one has been able to quiet her down since.
Currently, Leah is an MFA candidate in Dance at the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, where she dreams and writes and discusses and researches and creates all sorts of things. Mostly, these things have to do with disrupting how we think about classrooms, queer theory, decay rituals, trying to unpack why she loves 80s pop, her extreme affinity for repetition, composing soundtracks in Ableton Live, and running backwards for extended periods of time.
