2025 Under the Radar Symposium Keynote

The 2025 Under the Radar Symposium kicks off with an exciting and robust keynote event. Free and open to the public, this dynamic gathering brought together global arts leaders, cultural innovators, and a vibrant community of over 350 professionals to explore bold visions for strengthening the live and performing arts field.

This year’s keynote speakers—Kamilah Forbes (Apollo Theater), Mei Ann Teo (Ping Chong and Company), and Dorcy Rugamba (Rwanda Arts Initiative)—ignited the conversation with thought-provoking talks, drawing on their groundbreaking work to amplify diverse perspectives and drive cultural change. Beyond the speeches, this keynote event was a powerful space for global dialogue and meaningful networking, creating opportunities for participants to connect, collaborate, and share insights on the successes and challenges shaping the live and performing arts field.

Conceived by UTR’s festival producers ArKtype and co-creative directors Mark Russell, Kaneza Schaal, and Meropi Peponides, this opening session was the launchpad for a full day dedicated to strengthening the live and performing arts.
