Salvage Vanguard Theater presents a new solo work by Taji Senior that examines America’s failed vision of a more perfect union. A portion of the production's proceeds will go to the African-American Policy Forum & Black Mamas ATX.

We are all witnesses, judge and jury in the trial of Ma'Dear, a pregnant, enslaved woman forced to consider an impossible choice: abandon an opportunity to be more than enslaved, more than mere property or become the matriarch of a lineage bound to what she calls “the lie.” She calls to the stand several witnesses, including Venida and Kalief Browder, Paul Robeson, Fred Hampton and others.
