Establishing Latino Theater Alliances within Texas and Across the Nation by Dallas Latino Cultural Center in Dallas—Friday 7 June 2013
This meeting which is being called by TANTO (Teatro Alianza of North Texas Organizations) and hosted by the Dallas Latino Cultural Center. The overarching purpose of the meeting is to identify Texas-based Latino theatre artists in order to create a vital network, enabling the exchange of creative and other resources at the local, state and national levels. Latino theater companies nationwide, individual playwrights, actors, and performance artists, directors, and designers are welcome to participate in the discussion. Participant Kinan Valdez will address the upcoming national Latino Theater Commons conference later on this year. TANTO will share information on two immediate projects: the call for submissions for the anthology MADE IN TEJAS: An Anthology of Chicano/Latino works, and the search for scholars specializing in Texas Teatro history.
