Interview with Sonia Carmona Tapia and Jaime Vicent Bohórquez about With Profound Dignity / De Profunda Dignitatis (Spain)

In her play, Sonia Carmona Tapia commemorates two Spanish Roma women. One of them, Emilia Fernández Rodríguez, became the first Roma woman to be beatified in 2017. The other, Gabriela Ortega Gómez, was the first Roma performing artist with a university degree. Two stories of two heroines unfold in parallel. They both stood up for their own values and beliefs in opposition to the authorities of the time: one fought communism and the other fought the Franco regime.
