Golden Thread Productions presented NO SUMMARY: The SWANA Queer Imagination livestreaming on the global, commons-based, peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Friday 25 June 2021 at 11 a.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC -7) / 1 p.m. CDT (Chicago, UTC -5) / 2 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4).

Just in time for LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, a few of our community artivists (artist-activists) will be having a kiki to discuss deviant theatrics. They'll be talking about working as SWANA Queers in various American theater scenes, and sharing what it takes to keep their artivists' bodies and minds in tune. It's all about juggling the entertainment industry of the Western and Eastern Hemispheres, with an LGBTQ+ spin. Join us as we celebrate the innovations of Queer SWANA Artists!

Curator and Facilitator:

Aram Ronaldo Krikorian (they/he) is an Armenian Palestinian French Canadian SF Bay Area queer artivist (activist-artist), who has produced musicals in theater festivals in NYC, LA and SF, and instills LGBTQ+ Palestinian rights and advocacy into shows with groups like SFAF (San Francisco Aids Foundation) and It's Qwere.

Panelists:

Zara Jamshed (they/them) is a queer, non-binary Pakistani American engineer, poet and lighting designer. They're interested in using art and performance to grow connection and cultivate healing with queer and trans Muslim communities.

Marc Erdahi (he/him) is a gay Syrian American theater director working in New York City. He has directed and produced musicals and plays in the New York Musical Festival, New York Fringe Festival, Off Broadway, and taken multiple shows on tour around the country. He has two cats, Minnie and Rufus.

VERA (Vera Hannush) is an Armenian American drag king, dancer, and activist. They are a member of Rebel Kings of Oakland and SWANA Kings (South West Asian North African drag kings), Bay Area Development Officer for Covenant House California, Lead Volunteer Trainer on the LGBT National Hotline, and board member of Oaklash, the Bay Area Drag Festival.
