You’re invited to join the New Cities, Future Ruins convening from Southern Methodist University’s campus in Dallas, Texas for the Sunday morning mainstage presentations livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Sunday 13 November at 7:30 a.m. PST (Vancouver) / 9:30 a.m. CST (Austin) / 10:30 a.m. EST (New York) / 15:30 GMT-UTC (London).

New Cities, Future Ruins is a four-year curatorial initiative inviting artists, designers, and thinkers to re-imagine and engage the extreme urbanism of America’s Western Sun Belt. The project kicks off with a convening at various sites throughout Dallas 11-14 NovemberSunday morning’s mainstage presentations include remarks from participants including Brent Brown, Mary Ellen Carroll, Naima J. Keith, Clyde Valenn, Noah Simblist, others, and Teddy Cruz and Fonna Forman. Each will give a brief talk about an aspect of their work or research tied to New Cities, Future Ruins. New Cities, Future Ruins is led by Artistic Director Gavin Kroeber. The founding partners in the initiative are the SMU Meadows School for the Arts, which will host the Dallas convening, ASU Gammage, and UTEP Rubin Center for the Visual Arts.
