The Path Forward at the Network for Arts Administrators of Color and ArtsBoston
The Network for Arts Administrators of Color and ArtsBoston presented The Path Forward: A Conversation on Racial Equity in Arts Leadership livestreamed from Boston, MA on the global, commons-based peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Thursday 24 May from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EDT (Boston) / 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. CDT (Chicago) / 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. PDT (San Francisco).
The City of Boston is a city known for its innovation, and yet, Boston continues to struggle with its reputation as a racist city. As Boston’s development boom grows at break-neck speeds, people of color continue to ask, what changes are being made in order to open more doors and create opportunities for equitable leadership? After all, Boston’s vibrant cultural landscape is made possible by the diversity of its residents. As the city grows, how can the arts sector ensure that Boston’s leadership is reflective of its residents and what can we learn from other sectors in order to cultivate, elevate, and retain leaders of color in the arts?
Join the Network for Arts Administrators of Color as we hear from cross-sector leaders who are in key positions of power across various sectors in Boston, and are active catalysts for change in their field. Learn how they inspire action, leverage resources, and effectively navigate their networks for systemic change.
