Christine Evans describes her piece as "homage to Trojan Women"—but also compares it to a car crash where the homage collides with the present day and historical repetitions of women as a second frontline in modern warfare. Homer and Euripides are set against echoes of Nanking, Berlin, Rwanda, Sarajevo, Syria et al. Lotte is our modern day character. She repairs dolls. Hankering for a holiday with cultural and historical empowerment, she heads towards Troy.
