We have gotten used to the complexity, contrasts, and tensions in Europe. However, the peace and integration that has prevailed in Europe over the past fifty years are proving more fragile than we thought. In this context, culture reflects the state of a society, while imagining its possible futures. Admittedly, standing at a crossroads is nothing new. Yet today's crossroads seem to propose directions never taken before and thus even harder to envision. Let's call it crisis in the wider sense, which includes the incentive to reflect collectively upon ways out of it.

The panelists are Manuel Arias Maldonado, Associate Professor at the University of Malaga, and Angeles González-Sinde, screenwriter and film director, and former Minister of Culture of Spain (2009-2011).
