Female Playwrights ONSTAGE Project at Little Black Dress INK in Los Angeles—Sunday 18 May 2014

Little Black Dress INK, Los Angeles presented its 2014 Female Playwrights ONSTAGE Project livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Sunday 18 May at 12 p.m. PDT (Los Angeles) /2 p.m. CDT (Chicago) / 3 p.m. EDT (Toronto).

Little Black Dress INK's female playwrights fest delivers awesome work by talented writers to new audiences in this national new play event. Over 100 short plays were submitted to the fest, with 28 being selected for readings in Santa Barbara, CA; Ithaca, NY; Sedona, AZ; and Waco, TX.  Now, our 11 Finalists will receive a staged reading at the Los Angeles Theatre Center and livestreamed on HowlRoundTV before receiving productions this Fall.

Please join us for this special event, and participate on Twitter by directing questions/comments to @LBlackDressINK. Use #howlround to follow the conversation.

Little Black Dress INK is an experiment in support, inspired by recent revelations in numbers on the subject of just how few female playwrights actually get produced. Through outreach, education, and producing opportunities, Little Black Dress INK strives to create more production opportunities for female playwrights while also strengthening the female playwright network.
