Honest Accomplice Theatre presented a performance of unmuted livestreamed on the global, commons-based, peer produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Sunday 1 November 2020 at 4 p.m. PST (San Francisco, UTC -8) / 6 p.m. CST (Chicago, UTC -6) / 7 p.m. EST (New York, UTC -5).

unmuted is a new piece created remotely for the small screen. Made by a collective of theater artists, Unmuted explores themes of (dis)connection to our ancestry, to this moment, and to each other. While conventional theater spaces have been closed, Unmuted grew from a process rooted in playfully embracing the chaos of Zoom and striving for human connection in a time of isolation.

About Honest Accomplice Theatre
Honest Accomplice Theatre’s (HAT) mission is to drive individual acceptance among, and incite community dialogue about, women and trans people. They do this by exploring topics that are often silenced, seen as shameful, or portrayed as one-dimensional. HAT energizes that community, and those around them, by engaging professionals and members of the community to devise new work that surfaces the nuanced and personal experiences of women and trans people. This approach empowers the community itself with opportunities to construct and own their narratives, as well as engage audiences, allowing them to relate experiences played on stage to those in their own lives. HAT creates work in New York City and then tours to community centers, universities, high schools, and senior centers, allowing their art to stimulate dialogue with an ever growing number of people.
