The VORTEX in Austin, Texas presented a performance of "Octia of the Pink Ocean", a cyber opera, llivestreamed on the global, commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Saturday 23 August at 6 p.m. PDT/ 8 p.m. CDT/ 9 p.m. EDT.

The goddess Karnika seeks her memory and identity, joining with sovereign Octia to battle Mermecho and the destructive forces that are mechanizing the world and creating The Blackening. The struggle to save the magical environment of the Pink Ocean presents a powerful environmental message. Octia of the Pink Ocean is a CyberOpera, all sung and performed with cybernetic movement developed over the past 20 years. Chad Salvata, Ethos Artistic Director, is famous for infusing his stories with lush imagery, fantastic characters, and outrageous sexuality. For Mature Audiences. Sexual imagery, partial nudity, and language.
