Festivals, often organized within a specific geographic community or around a theme, are a great way for different works to be in conversation with each other. Content in this section primarily focuses around recapping theatre festivals and analyzing multiple works that were featured.
The twelve plays to be showcased at Carnaval 2015 are just the tip of the iceberg. The totality of the plays submitted for consideration represents the depth and breadth of artistic ambition within the Latina/o theatremaking community.

The 33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival, Iran’s most visible dramatic showcase, opened ran in Tehran January 21-February 1, 2015. It featured eighty plays from Iran and eleven from Europe and the Middle East, and no representation from the United States.
